Nothing gets the juices flowing like the excitement of an attempt to steal home. Am I right?
I guess I’m wrong.
On Friday night, Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury decided to go for it with Rays pitcher Matt Moore in the wind up. As he’s breaking towards the plate, the Legend Seats Crew were so overcome with the S-P-O-R-T-S theatrics, they barely acknowledged the theater unfolding in from of them! Or something.
As Ellsbury dove to the dish and the stadium on pins and needles, the fans “between the bases” barely reacted to the baseball men doing the baseball things.
Of course, I’ve written about the bourgeoise community that make up much of the moat before. Not everyone down there are non-baseball fans there for the bevy of shrimp cocktail and sweets that would make Homer Simpson’s chocolate land dream look tame.
But, the shot of fans sitting on their hands as Ellsbury not only did SOMETHING, but something really cool, was just another case of Yankees fans looking bad.
Now, where’s my white Zinfedel?
