But, then Orioles manager Davey Johnson had some suspicion that things were not what they seemed. In 1996, at the age of 20, something seemed a-rye. That bat didn’t look kosher. Johnson believed Rodriguez was cheating with a corked bat. Eventually, the umps confiscated the bat and Alex homered in the same at bat with Ken Griffey Jr.’s bat.
