Even though there are a seemingly endless amount of websites to watch illegally downloaded movies, someone is still watching over the cyberscape.
A 28 year-old Swedish man was fined 4.3 million Swedish kron ($656k) for uploading a single movie to a torrent sharing site. That’s a lot of IKEA Poang chairs!
He was also given a suspended jail sentence and ordered to 160 hours of community service for the other 517 movies he uploaded.
Why the disparity in sentencing? Well the fine was based on the financial losses that Nordisk films figured out. So, imagine what Death Blow and Cry,Cry,Again would go for on the streets?
